This area has been reserved to help clarify any questions regarding the use and modifying of the SCWeek calendar and explanation of new features which might be added in the future. It has been divided into 3 basic topics. ("Viewers Only", "New Features", and "Calendar Managers"). |
"Viewers Only" If you are not the specific Lodge Calendar Manager, but rather an interested browser, then your task is easy. Just click on an event that looks interesting, and any amplifying data about that event will be displayed. To return to the main calendar use your Brower's "Back" navigation button. You also have the ability to look at future month's events by clicking on the "To View Additional Months" navigation button and selecting whatever month you desire. In addition, the "Event List" button will display the month's events in text format as an alternative viewing choice. Enjoy your Browsing! |
"New Features" For future use. |
"Calendar Managers" As the Lodge Calendar Manager, your task at hand is essential. If this calendar is to be successful, two things must happen, First, there must be scrupulous updating of monthly events on your part, and secondly, as a team member with your Master and Secretary, you must develop a strategy to excite your membership to visit our site and visit it often. A Word About Protocol We expect this calendar to get very busy and full of dates. It therefore becomes necessary that we all follow certain agreed upon protocols when entering our data so it is easy for everyone to read and use. After you enter your date and time, there is a place to enter a small amount of data that will appear with the listing on the calendar or event list. We request that everyone use the following format and order of data; (Lodge # only/then a brief description .... e.g. Stated Mtg, Family Dinner, 1st Degree, Ball Game, etc.)/Time, including AM or PM). Anything further you want them know, you can put this amplifying data in the 2nd dialogue box at the bottom of the form. This box is larger and allows for more full descriptions. If you prefer, instead of more text, you can insert a link at this point to any URL you'd like, perhaps your Lodge's own Home Page. In addition to the brief description in the first box, you also have the option to pick a color for the type event. In order to make the entries easier to sort, the following colors shall be used and are explained here as well as at the top of the calendar page: Dark Blue - Tiled Meetings (Masons only) Green - Open Event (Everyones invited) Red - Holidays Black - Default (if it doesn't fit other 3 categories) Finally, once again, if you don't stay current with your Lodge data, the calendar will become useless and your membership will never return to visit your efforts. So stay focused and let's truly make Santa Clara County Masonic Association the most vibrant in the state. |
